1Voucher Betting Sites: Deposit Cash, No Bank Account

1Voucher is the closest thing South Africa has to a universal cash-to-online rail. Pay cash at a till or a spaza, get a 16-digit PIN, type it into your betting account. Every licensed bookmaker we review accepts it, and it costs you nothing above face value.

Which betting sites accept 1Voucher?

All five of the licensed South African bookmakers we review take 1Voucher. What differs is the minimum you can load and how quickly the deposit page finds the option.

What a 1Voucher actually is

1Voucher is issued by Flash, the prepaid network whose blue terminals sit on the counter of something like a quarter of a million small retailers across South Africa. You hand over cash, the terminal prints a slip carrying a 16-digit PIN, and that PIN is spendable anywhere in the 1Voucher network — betting sites, online stores, streaming subscriptions, electricity.

Two things follow from that design, and both matter:

Denominations and limits

Minimum valueR5 at the till — WSB accepts 1Voucher deposits from R1
Maximum per voucherCommonly quoted at R4,000; WSB accepts 1Voucher deposits up to R5,000, so the ceiling varies by operator
PIN length16 digits
ValidityLong-dated (typically around 3 years from issue)
Partial redemptionNo — a PIN is redeemed once, in full
FeeNone. Face value only.

Need more than R4,000 in? Buy several vouchers and redeem the PINs one after another — they stack in your balance. At that size, though, instant EFT is faster and draws less attention at the till.

Where to buy a 1Voucher with cash

Buying from a spaza? Watch the terminal print the slip, and check all 16 digits are legible before you hand over the money and walk away. A vendor cannot reprint it.

How to deposit a 1Voucher, step by step

  1. Log in to your betting account. If you cannot get in, our login troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.
  2. Open Deposit from the account menu.
  3. Choose Voucher, then 1Voucher if the site splits voucher types.
  4. Type the 16-digit PIN. Do not paste from a photo of the slip — OCR misreads 0/O and 1/I constantly.
  5. Submit. The full face value credits in seconds. Destroy the slip once the balance updates.

In practice you should not care which one you use. Buy whichever the shop in front of you sells, and check your bookmaker takes it first — Betway and Supabets are the two that do not accept Blu.

Voucher Safety: the PIN is the money

Common problems and what causes them

What you seeWhat it usually means
“Invalid voucher”A mistyped digit. Re-enter by hand, slowly. 0 and 8, 1 and 7 are the usual culprits on a faded slip.
“Voucher already redeemed”Either you loaded it already and missed the confirmation, or you bought a resold PIN. Check your transaction history first, then contact Flash with the slip.
Money left your hand, no slip printedTerminal fault. The vendor can reprint from the Flash terminal history — do not leave the shop.
Deposit accepted, balance unchangedRefresh, then check the account statement. If it is genuinely missing, open a ticket with the bookmaker quoting the PIN and the timestamp — this one is on them, and it is resolvable.
A deposit method is not a budget. Cash vouchers make it easy to spend money you have already set aside — that is their advantage. Instant EFT and card methods make it easy to spend money you had not planned to. If you find yourself topping up a second time in the same day, that is the signal to stop. Every licensed operator has deposit limits and self-exclusion in the account settings, and the National Responsible Gambling Programme is on 0800 006 008, free, 24 hours. FAQ

Which betting sites accept 1Voucher in South Africa?

All five licensed bookmakers we review (Hollywoodbets, Betway, YesPlay, Supabets and Playa Bets) accept 1Voucher deposits. YesPlay and Supabets both list it by name in their own help pages; the other three we could not re-check on this pass. Minimums differ per operator and, at YesPlay, per bank.

Can I withdraw betting winnings to a 1Voucher?

Not to a 1Voucher, no. It is a deposit-only rail. Withdrawals go by EFT to a bank account in your own name once FICA clears. One exception is worth knowing: Supabets publishes a 1ForYou voucher withdrawal option alongside EFT, eWallet and cardless OTP, so a voucher payout is possible there, just not with 1Voucher itself.

Does a 1Voucher cost more than its face value?

No. A R100 1Voucher costs exactly R100. Flash pays the retailer's commission. Any vendor charging a surcharge is overcharging you.

What is the maximum 1Voucher deposit?

A single 1Voucher holds up to R4,000. You can redeem several PINs one after another to deposit more, and they stack in your betting balance.

Do 1Vouchers expire?

They are long-dated, typically around three years from issue. Redeem sooner rather than later, because a lost slip is lost money with no recovery process.

Can I use one 1Voucher across two betting accounts?

No. A PIN is redeemed once, in full, to a single account. Buy smaller denominations if you want to split funds.
